THE PARADE

Its been a little over a week since the parade and we're proud to say that the float was a huge hit, our brakes didn't go out, motor didn't overheat or run out of gas, and we finished the parade.

Overall we took second place because this year VEISHEA Central decided to eliminate divisions (and forgot to mention it to us) so we took second behind Delts. Had we competed in the medium division we could have taken first because we did beat FLIE.

Enjoy these pictures of the parade and we hope to make next year's float even better!

Thank you to everyone for your donations and continuing support, we couldn't have done it without you!

PROGRESS PROGRESS PROGRESS!!!

We have made a lot of progress since Spring Break, including virtually finishing the mystery machine and the majority of the castle. We have also done a lot of work on the characters as many of them have been covered in fabric and several of the heads have been carved and are beginning to be detailed.

This week is Greek Week so we are expecting a busy week. This weekend will be a big weekend and next we of course is VEISHEA Week so its a sprint to the finish!

More Progress!

We made quite a bit of headway over spring break! We were able to attach and cover the castle in the rear of the float and we also framed up the mystery machine. This week we're planning to start working on the skirt on the rear of the chassis, building the draw bridge on the castle, setting the towers on the castle, bricking and painting the castle, and setting and sheeting the mystery machine.

We've got a busy week planned and we'll need to keep at it because the parade is less than a month away!

Driver's Test

This morning (Sunday 3.7.10) the chassis moved out of the barn for the first time. We drove down to the stadium parking lots and went through the cone course. We're also pretty sure we set a course record!
